AgaMatrix proves less is more in blood glucose monitoring

The past few weeks I've had the opportunity of trying a new meter. I did my research on some models that interested me and, as luck would have it, I came across a company called AgaMatrix. The Wave 1 Meter provides some of the most accurate readings any blood glucose meter can deliver, in 4 seconds or less, with the smallest readable blood sample.

Courtesy of Liberty Medical, I was able to test this puppy out. It was quite exciting when I realized how small 0.5 microliters of blood truly is! When I tell you it's enough to leave a gnat thirsty - I'm not kidding. The meter gives astoundingly accurate results within 5 seconds, it will track your mealtime averages, and it is outfitted with rubberized perforations for a tighter handle on the meter (not just your sugars). It has a backlit display screen so large my next door neighbors could see my results. As for meter etiquette- the friendly little bleeps were a pleasant reminder to test, as well as a caution for readings too high or too low. You can distinguish which beep means what as you get to know and love this meter.

To summarize, the most favorable features of this meter include: readings in 4 seconds or less, very small blood sample size, very large backlit display, end-fill test strip that sucks the blood like a sponge, 300 test result memory, mealtime averages, high/low buzzers, and up to 6 daily test reminder alarms. Short of a live-in nurse, this little meter has just the right balance of nature verses nurture. Testing this meter was not a waste of my time. I encourage anybody in the market for a new one to check out the Wave 1. Thanks to AgaMatrix for accommodating my interest in testing your meter. Best of luck to you and I look forward to the debut of the Wave 3!
